The Evolution of Women in Stock Photos

Interesting to see how the top-selling image for the search term 'woman' on Getty Images has changed over the past 10 years... from your classic semi-nude, glamour images to woman in the outdoors, in the mountains, going on adventures.

We see it all over Instagram, some of the most followed users are the 'digital-native', world traveller, #vanlife individuals/couples/families, seemingly living the dream. Naturally, people love to follow these accounts to be inspired by their lifestyles and images from around the world. With that, I believe brands and companies are following suit, purchasing stock images that follow this trend.

Either way, this shift away from objectifying women can only be a good thing.
