Shooting a World First Expedition

A couple of months ago I went out to film and photograph a world first expedition as Laura Bingham, Ness Knight, Pip Stewart and their Wai Wai guides attempted to kayak the Essequibo River in Guyana from the source to the sea.

The whole trip took the team 72 days and they paddled over 1100 km, successfully completing their goal on 17th April. I joined them half way through and shot around 8TB video footage and over 15,000 photos.

Camera and tech gear: Canon C300, Canon 5D Mark IV, 16-35mm, 50mm, 24-105mm, 70-200mm, 100-400mm, GoPro Hero6 x 2, DJI Mavic Air x 2, FeiyuTech a2000, Thule DSLR Camera Backpack, Thule Guidepost85 Rucksack, Land Rover Explore Outdoor Phone.

The film will be released sometime next year and I’ll be doing a full blog post about the whole trip soon, but in the meantime check out some photos below (and if you want even more, head over to my website: https://www.jon-w.com/Latest-Work/Essequibo)
