Wedding Video Shot with only a GoPro Hero3

I took a GoPro Hero 3 with me to a wedding back in the UK as a test to film the event with only one camera and no stabiliser (my Feiyu WG is currently back in China getting repaired).

On the edit below you’ll see the results. In FCPX I made heavy use of the ‘blur’ transitions along with keyframing camera movements to connect shots. Around 75% of the shots had to be stabilised in FCPX too.

The GoPro seemed to overexpose most shots so I used FCPX’s built in Colour Board to drop the highlights, midtones and shadows down.

Finally I used the ‘Glory’ Effect to enhance some of the shots and give them that extra glow.

I found the track “Quittin’ Time” by Patrick Lee on the Free Music Archive in the ‘Music for Video‘ section, under a creative commons license.
